I totally agree with Dirk Standen’s points in this article. I would love to be able to shop in Dover Street Market whether it be London, New York or Tokyo because I’m literally so sick of shops these days.
I totally agree that the way we shop is getting boring as most of the high street retailers are found in every corner of the world. You can’t get away from it and no matter how good their fashion is, everyone is wearing pretty similar clothing which to be honest is pretty boring.
Are we not in the times where everyone thinks that being individual means that you have to either dress like the new and slightly improved Kim Kardashian or for men grow an unruly beard and put on some Doc Martens? This world needs some real individuality and even I myself think this is really hard to find.
I hope when I return to New York this year that I will be able to visit Dover Street Market and find some really unusual pieces that hopefully no one else will have back home.
